Young people can learn about local apprenticeships and post-16 pathways such as BTEC and T Levels at the show next month.
Local employers and training providers will be sharing their upcoming apprenticeships or post-16 training programmes with visitors. Young people can also speak to current apprentices to find out more about their experiences. The first hour is a quiet hour for residents with additional needs to find out more about apprenticeships and inclusive programmes such as Supported Internships.
Visitors will have the opportunity to speak to employers and training providers from financial, manufacturing, construction, engineering and public sectors. Exhibitors include Paragon Bank, McDermott Building & Civil Engineering, Solihull College & University Centre, University of Derby, Dodd Group, King’s Trust and Solihull Council. There will be workshops delivered by exhibitors for visitors to interact and engage with throughout the event.
Councillor Heather Delaney, Solihull Council’s Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Economy, Business & Skills, said: “There were over 1,000 visitors at the Solihull Apprenticeship and Pathways Show last year. It has always been our flagship event for young people to explore the range of pathways available locally after GCSE’s, as well as apprenticeships which have become an increasingly option with the rising living costs.
“We hope that young people can take this opportunity to get all the information they need to explore all their options over the term break. I’d encourage all young people, especially those in Year 10-13, to sign up for the show.”
Organised by Solihull Careers Hub which is part of the Council’s Employment and Skills Team, the Solihull Apprenticeship and Pathways Show is free to exhibit and attend.
