To help residents save money on their energy bills, and access tariffs backed by 100% renewable energy, Solihull Council has partnered with Switch Together Energy, formerly known by the name Big Community Switch.
Switch Together Energy brings households together across the UK to negotiate exclusive, fixed-rate tariffs with vetted suppliers. By pooling their buying power, communities can secure better deals than households could achieve individually.
Participation is completely free, and there is no obligation to switch.
Registrations open on Monday 23 February 2026 and will be closing on Friday 15 May 2026.
Councillor Andy Mackiewicz, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Climate Change and Planning, said:
“Solihull Council is proud to partner with Switch Together Energy. We want to help our residents access fair, transparent energy deals, just as we work to make other household costs easier to manage. This is a simple, no-obligation way for people to fix their energy tariff and protect themselves from future price rises.”
Councillor Mark Parker, Cabinet Member for Housing, added:
“Helping residents to decarbonise household energy is a priority for us. The energy we use in our homes accounts for a quarter of all carbon emissions throughout the borough. We also want our residents to have access to energy deals that are fair and transparent, protecting them from future price rises, and providing a no-obligation way for people to fix their energy tariff.”
Residents will receive a personal offer on Tuesday 14 April 2026.
