Next week is West Midlands Retrofit Action Week (10 – 18 May 2025) – and there are lots of events and virtual workshops offering information and advice on how to update homes and make them more energy efficient.
In Solihull there are two free drop-in events.
Chat with experts from Solihull Council’s Green Homes Team and Act on Energy and learn how you can upgrade your home to be more energy efficient and receive free impartial advice on energy saving and how to create a healthier home. There will also be staff from the Family Hub at the Friday event:
- Monday 12 May, 11am – 4pm, Parkgate (outside Asda), Stratford Road, Shirley, B90 3GG
- Friday 16 May, 10am – 4pm, Riverside Family Hub (inside), 289 Bosworth Drive, Fordbridge, B37 5DP
Cllr Mark Parker, Solihull Council’s cabinet member for housing, said: “Retrofit Action Week is a great opportunity for residents and organisations to find how to adapt homes to make them more energy efficient, save money and ultimately tackle climate change. There are many ways to get involved – check out the RAW website listings and take advantage of our free drop-in sessions to get free, face to face advice.”
