A lot to talk about this week, I’ve got a couple of items related to health, some business matters, some things we are doing, to make your lives easier across early help, council tax and recycling and the excellent Surreal Solihull Exhibition.

A new simplified Council Tax Reduction Scheme (CTRS) which will help thousands of working age households in Solihull with their council tax bills will begin on 1 April 2025.

Solihull residents can now recycle plastic bags and wrapping along with their usual recycling at the kerbside.

A new Family Helpline has launched today (Monday 3 March) to support families in Solihull. Families and people working with parents and children in the borough are encouraged to call 0121 788 4327 to access support.

More than 700 residents received support from Solihull Council’s Employment and Skills Team in 2024 with more than a third of them age 16-24. Nathan was one of them.

The great work of our carers across the borough is something I am always keen to discuss and Young Carers Action Day is taking place on Wednesday 12 March.
