Food waste caddy delivery information

We will be starting deliveries of your food waste caddies on Monday 3 August 2026, with deliveries taking place across August and September.

We’ll deliver your outdoor caddy, that will contain your kitchen caddy and information leaflets, as close to your front door as possible.

We cannot provide an exact delivery date for your caddies, but you can check when we’ll be in your area.

What you will receive

7-litre indoor caddy for your kitchen
23-litre lockable outdoor caddy to keep outside and deter pests
Leaflets on how to use the food waste service and make full use of your recycling service

Bring your caddies inside your property and store them safely until your new food waste collections are due to start (week commencing 5 October 2026)
Look inside your outdoor caddy and make you sure that your kitchen caddy and information leaflets are inside

You should put your house name or number on your outdoor caddy.

If we've delivered to your area and you have still not received your caddies, please report it.

Your outdoor caddy may look slightly out of shape at first, this is normal and is due to how they have been stored.

This might mean:

The good news is that it’s easy to fix.

There’s no need to replace the caddy, it will return to its normal shape after a few weeks. To help, you should:

open the handle and gently press the lid into place (you may need to wiggle it slightly)
keep the lid closed and the handle locked when not in use
leave the caddy outside in daylight to speed up the process

Sometimes the handle on your outdoor caddy can pop off. This doesn’t usually happen, but it’s very easy to fix.

You will need to:

line-up the lug with the hole and applying some pressure until you hear or feel it click into place - although it can be hard to do this by hand, it’s easy to do it on the ground
open the lid and line up the lug and hole on the affected side with the handle in the upright position
place the bin on its side on the ground and gently step on the edge of the bin to clip the handle into place

If you still need to report your caddy as damaged, please report it and tell us which of the two caddies is damaged.

Food waste caddy packs are provided free of charge. If you choose not to use them now, we recommend keeping them in case you want to use them later.

The caddies belong to the property, not the individual. If you don’t use them, please leave them behind so future residents can use the service.
