Admission arrangements are used to decide how places are offered.

Admission arrangements for 2026/27

Community and voluntary controlled schools

We determine the admission arrangements for community and voluntary controlled schools. If there are more applications for a school than there are places available the places are offered in order, according to the oversubscription criteria which you can find in the admission arrangements.

We have qualifying schemes to process the admission of children into the schools in our area:

Voluntary-aided schools and academies

The admission arrangements for voluntary-aided (church) schools and academies are determined by their governing body.

Variation to the admission arrangements for St Alphege Infant School for 2024

The Office of School’s Adjudicator has approved a variation to the 24/25 admission arrangements for St Alphege Infant and nursery school. The published admission number for reception intake in 2024 has been reduced from 75 to 60.

Responding to a consultation to change admission arrangements.

When changes are proposed to admission arrangements, all admission authorities must consult on the admission arrangements.

During the consultation period you have the opportunity to respond in favour of; or object to; the changes to the admission arrangements proposed by the admission authority.

The details on how to respond will form part of the consultation document. After the consultation period, the admissions authority will consider the responses and determine their arrangements.

Following the publication of the determined arrangements, objector’s can refer the determined arrangements to the Office of School’s Adjudicator for review.

Objections must be made before 15 May and will be considered by the adjudicator if they’re made on time. Admission arrangements can be referred to the adjudicator at other times, however the adjudicator has the discretion on whether or not to consider the case if it is referred after 15 May.
