Council Carbon Plan

We have an ambition to be net zero carbon in our Council operations by 2030. 

The Council has been working to cut carbon and other Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions for many years. Since 2019/2020, the Council’s net emissions have reduced by 51%.  

The Council Carbon Plan outlines how the Council intends to build on this achievement. 

Success so far has been down to a range of actions including:

• the switch to LED street lighting
• reductions in emissions from our waste collection services
• improvements to our buildings through energy efficiency works and responsible management
