National Non-Domestic Rates Accounts

In accordance with our obligation to respond to requests made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, we intend to publish on our website the information listed below from August 2014. The information will be provided in an Excel spreadsheet.

National Non-Domestic Rates Accounts in Credit

Further to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) Decision Notices FS50619844 and FS50643256, Solihull Council is no longer publishing information in respect of credit balances on Business Rate accounts. In line with these decisions, information is being withheld under Section 31(1)(a) Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FoIA), which states that:

“Information which is not exempt under Section 30 is exempt information if its disclosure under this Act would, or would be likely to, prejudice –

(a) the prevention or detection of crime “

However, to be open and transparent in respect of public funds, we will publish the following information on a quarterly basis:

  • Total business rate credits held
  • Types of business to which the total relates.
