Solihull Council is committed to continuous improvement and welcomes the opportunity for peer challenge through a national initiative called 'sector led improvement'.
Peer challenge is supported and organised by the Local Government Association (LGA) and is a proven tool for improvement. A peer challenge can cover the whole Council, a specific service or other area of focus as agreed between the Council and the LGA.
This is followed by a visit by a peer challenge team, made up of local government officers and councillors from other local authorities who spend time in our organisation to evaluate how well we are performing. This is usually for a week, at the end of which the peer challenge team feedback their findings and recommendations.
These are the reports from our latest peer challenges in 2019/20:
- LGA Solihull Corporate Peer Challenge Report - January 2020
- LGA Solihull Safeguarding Children Partnership Peer Challenge Report - October 2019
- LGA Solihull Delayed Transfers for Care (DToC) report - June 2019
