Citizenship ceremonies

Book a British Citizenship Ceremony COVID-19

In line with the Government’s roadmap to easing lockdown rules civil registration offices will continue to provide the majority of public services and British Citizenship Ceremonies are permitted.

As COVID infection numbers in Solihull remain high, we are urging people to wear face coverings when attending a ceremony and continue with COVID-safety measures.

For the most up to date COVID-19 guidance please visit the Gov.UK website.

The Register Office is only open for pre-booked appointments.

Every applicant for British citizenship is required to attend a citizenship ceremony to swear an oath or affirmation of allegiance to the Crown and make a pledge to uphold the values and laws of the UK.

If the Home Office approves your application for British citizenship, they will send you an invitation letter which will tell you who to contact to book your citizenship ceremony. This must be completed within 3 months of the date stated in your letter.
