Our Local Offer for Care Experienced Young People
Whether you are age 16 or 25, we’re here to help, provide advice, and introduce you to offers to help you transition to adulthood.
If you have a question about the Local Offer, please ask your personal advisor. They might also be able to tell you about seasonal or temporary support offers.
Your personal advisor can contact you by:
- text or WhatsApp
- a phone call
- a video call

What happens when I turn 21?
When you reach 21, you can decide on the level of support you receive from our Next Steps Service.
We want to support you in the best way we can and in the best way for you. Some young people wish to leave the service, keep in touch or want ongoing support.
In Solihull, we have a tiered approach to the support we give to young people once they reach 21.
Ongoing support
Short term support - age 21 and above
- allocation to our virtual duty worker and a named personal advisor, if required
- flexibility of how often we contact you based on your need
Keeping in touch - age 21 and above
- allocation to a virtual worker
- contact at least once every 6 months
- sharing of information, offers and events for care leavers
Leaving our service
- we will not contact you if you do not want us to
- you are welcome to return at any time and ask for support, up to the age of 25
- if you are over 25 we can provide support from our 'Always here' offer
Our Always Here offer
We are here for you at any age if you are care experienced.
If you are age 25 or over, our “Always Here Offer” means that you can speak to the duty PA and be given advice or referred / signposted to other appropriate services.
