Youth Opportunities (YO) Solihull is a voluntary organisation set up to support local Voluntary, Community, Faith, and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) organisations.

VCFSE organisations in Solihull provide vital support to children and young people but often work in isolation.

YO Solihull’s mission is to bring organisations together so we can offer and share support, with an aim to:

  • increase collaboration and partnership working
  • reduce competition and duplication of services

What YO Solihull offers

YO Solihull does this by:

  • organising regular online and face to face network events
  • organising and/or delivering participative training workshops and seminars
  • enabling partnership funding bids
  • distributing a weekly information bulletin
  • attending key statutory sector meetings as a voice for the voluntary sector and feeding back relevant points and actions to members
  • working in partnership with the statutory sector on identified issues to ensure outcomes that will benefit children and young people and secure their rights
  • attend relevant regional and national conferences representing Solihull and feeding back key points to our network
  • giving and/or enabling individual support to individual organisations when needed
  • seeking feedback from the voluntary sector on the opportunities and threats we face and the needs of local children/young people
  • celebrating and promoting the strengths and achievements of the voluntary sector
  • advocating for and enabling the voices of children/young people to be heard
