Flooding in Dorridge and Bentley Heath - Friday 25 June, 2021

Statement at 11am Saturday 26 June

Following a severe thunderstorm on Friday night, 25 June, properties in the Dorridge and Bentley Heath area were inundated with surface rain water.

The Council received calls from 9pm until after midnight and Council’s drainage engineers went onsite to assist the emergency services and the CSW Resilience team deal with the flood water and provide support to householders.

From the initial site visit over 30 properties were affected and the electrical supply to the area was switched off.  Those householders whose homes were flooded were offered alternative accommodation, but all chose to stay in their properties.

Council officers are speaking to those householders this morning to see if they require any further support.  The officers are also contacting other properties in the area to check if other residents have been affected by the flooding and to make sure they are safe.

If anyone has been affected and wants advice or support please call 0121 704 8004 or email: drainage@solihull.gov.uk
