Local leisure centres to reopen on Monday

Released:

Local leisure centres in Solihull will reopen on Monday 12 April, after receiving the Government’s go ahead for Step 2 of the roadmap.

North Solihull Sports Centre and Tudor Grange Leisure Centre, managed by sports and leisure operator Everyone Active in partnership with Solihull Council, will reopen their doors following a three-month closure due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Government confirmed on Monday 5 April that leisure centres could reopen with strict operational measures in place. This is the latest stage of the four-step roadmap plan and follows the reopening of several outdoor activities such as astro pitches, athletics tracks and grass pitches on Monday 29 March.

From Monday 12 April the following will reopen at North Solihull Sport Centre:

  • gym
  • public swimming, lane swimming and family swimming
  • swimming lessons and swimming clubs (children only)
  • Sports Hall - adults only individual and households and under 18s groups/teams

The astro pitch and track reopened on 29 March.

And from Monday 12 April the following will reopen at Tudor Grange Leisure Centre:

  • gym
  • public swimming, lane swimming and family swimming
  • swimming lessons and swimming clubs (children only)
  • Sports Hall - adults only individual and households plus under 18s groups/teams
  • tennis - adults only individual and households plus under 18s groups/teams/courses (by Monday 19 April)

The astro pitch, athletics track and grass pitch reopened on 29 March.
