Meriden Library to temporarily close for essential works

Released:

Meriden Library will temporarily close on Thursday 28 December 2023 and will reopen at 10am on Monday 29 January 2024. This is to allow for essential building maintenance works to be carried out including updating the current fire alarm system.

The nearest library for customers during this temporary closure is Balsall Common

Library staff will be available at Meriden Sports Pavilion on Tuesday 9, 16 and 23 January from 10.30am to 12.30pm for any library related queries.

All loans from Meriden Library will automatically be extended to take into account this temporary period of disruption.

If customers would like to renew items during this period, they can do this online with their library card and PIN or by phone on 0121 704 6965.  Alternatively, customers can also return books via a drop box outside the library.

Customers have the alternative option of using the Council’s eLibrary which has a wealth of eBooks and eAudiobooks available to download.

Cllr. Wazma Qais, Solihull Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities and Leisure spoke of the closure, “We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the closure. Library services will still be available throughout this period, and we encourage customers to make use of our eLibrary. We look forward to welcoming our customers back soon.”
