New astro pitch for Tudor Grange Leisure Centre

Released:

Tudor Grange Leisure Centre’s astro pitch is closing in March for a complete refurbishment.

Starting on 7 March, it is anticipated that the work will be completed by mid-July – but regular users of the pitch have already been notified so that they have time to find alternative pitches during the closure.

Tudor Grange Leisure Centre – including outdoor sports areas – is run by Everyone Active in partnership with Solihull Council. The work will include a completely new pitch, new LED lights, new goals and equipment and new security fencing.

Deputy Leader for Solihull Council and Cabinet Member for Leisure and Tourism, Cllr Karen Grinsell, said: “The pitch was constructed 25 years ago and then redeveloped in 2009. It has therefore come to the end of its life and needs a complete refurbishment. Scheduled to finish mid-July it will be ready for use in the summer when I hope we are all feeling inspired to be active after welcoming Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games to the region.”
