Solihull Apprenticeship Show returns for residents to learn about local opportunities

Released:

Young people will have the chance to learn about this fantastic career route and opportunities available at the Solihull Apprenticeship Show this month.

Following the two hugely successful events which attracted over 3,300 visitors last academic year, this free event will take place at Cranmore Park on Tuesday 24 October from 3:30pm until 7.30pm. Anyone who wishes to find out more about apprenticeships as a fantastic career route are encouraged to come along.

Attendees will have the chance to speak to employers and training providers from a range of sectors including manufacturing, construction, finance and hospitality. Exhibitors include JLR, Solihull College & University Centre, Virgin Media O2, Make UK, Paragon Bank, GMI Construction, the NEC Group, NHS University Hospitals Birmingham and Solihull Council. Opportunities up to degree level will be on display. Current apprentices will also be there to share their experiences for visitors to get a better understanding and insight into apprenticeships.

Councillor Karen Grinsell, Deputy Leader of Solihull Council, said: “We place young people at the heart of all we do to enable them to achieve their potential and lead fulfilling lives. Apprenticeships are great opportunities for young people to showcase their talent and develop new skills for work. They can earn as they learn, while easing the transition from school to work. Residents are encouraged to come along to see what is on offer and talk with those who can help them make that decision.”

Organised by Solihull Careers Hub which is part of the Council’s Employment and Skills Team, this is a pivotal event that helps young people to prepare for their future career. It is free to attend and there is no need to book; however, to make the registration process quicker on the day, you can pre-register by completing the short online form: Solihull Apprenticeship Show October 2023 Registration Form
