Statement from Solihull Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment and Infrastructure, Cllr Ken Hawkins:
"Following a public consultation last summer, I agreed measures to try and increase cycling and walking in Solihull.
"One of the proposals involved closing Gate Lane in Dorridge to traffic. Since the consultation closed, I have heard further views from local residents and so I have decided that this closure will not go ahead.
"I would like to thank everyone who took part in the consultation and those who subsequently took the time to share their views."
