A Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) can be issued due to:
- parking or traffic restrictions, i.e parking on double yellow lines or school zig zags
- driving in a bus lane
- moving traffic restrictions
You should not pay at this stage if you plan to appeal.
Parking PCN
A PCN will either be attached to the vehicle or handed to you.
There are:
- low level contraventions, e.g. parking with an expired pay and display ticket: £50 (reduced to £25 if paid within 14 days)
- high level contraventions, e.g. parking on double yellow lines: £70 (reduced to £35 if paid within 14 days)
How to pay a PCN
You can pay at a reduced rate of 50% if your:
- parking fine is paid within 14 days of it being issued
- bus lane or moving traffic fine is paid within 21 days of it being issued
Pay online
To pay online you need:
- the PCN reference number (this will begin with the letters OH)
- a valid credit or debit card (Delta, Maestro, MasterCard, Solo and VISA are accepted)
