How to pay a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).

A Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) can be issued to any driver in contravention of:

  • parking or traffic restrictions, i.e parking on double yellow lines or school zig zags, or
  • driving in a bus lane

Parking PCN

A PCN will either be attached to the vehicle or handed to the driver. 

  • Low level contraventions, e.g. parking with an expired pay and display ticket: £50 (reduced to £25 if paid within 14 days)
  • Higher level contraventions, e.g. parking on double yellow lines: £70 (reduced to £35 if paid within 14 days)

How to pay a PCN

You’ll be able to pay your PCN at a reduced rate of 50% if your:

  • parking fine is paid within 14 days of it being issued
  • bus lane or moving traffic fine is paid within 21 days of it being issued 

Pay online

To pay online you need:

  • the PCN reference number (this will begin with the letters OH)
  • a valid credit or debit card (Delta, Maestro, MasterCard, Solo and VISA are accepted)
