Statutory processes for School / College transition for children and young people with EHCPs

Primary education transfers (nursery 2, year 2 if in an infant school, and year 6)

For all children and young people who have a finalised EHC plan Solihull Council must name the reception, year 3 or secondary provision identified within the EHC plan by 15 February every year.

Post 16 education transition for children moving to college

For those young people with an EHC plan who are likely to transfer into further education, and where an EHC plan is still deemed appropriate, Solihull Council must name the specific post-16 provision in Section I (Placement) of the plan. This has to be completed by the 31 March every year.
