Help us shape future adult social care services in Solihull. Find out how you can get involved today.
There is a wide range of equipment and technology that can help you live more safely and independently if you, someone you live with, or a child you care for:
- has a long-term illness
- is disabled
- is elderly
To talk about the support we can offer, please contact us by:
- phone: 0121 704 8007
- email ccadults@solihull.gov.uk
If we find you need extra help, we may need to complete an Occupational Therapy assessment and, with your consent, refer you to the Occupational Therapy Team. Alternatively, we may direct you to Solihull Independent Living Service (SILS) who can provide easy-to-use equipment.
Equipment is provided by Solihull Community Equipment Services (CES).
This video provides examples of when aids and equipment can be useful.
Solihull Community Equipment Service (CES)
Our Community Equipment Service (CES) delivers throughout Solihull and provides a range of equipment to support eligible people with everyday living in their own homes.
This may include different equipment from social care or the NHS such as:
- smaller items, e.g. bed and chair raisers, perching stools
- bathing equipment, e.g. bath seat or board
- specialist beds
- moving and handling equipment, e.g. hoists, slings
Our how-to videos to help you stay independent provide examples of how equipment can help with everyday living.
CES does not provide wheelchairs. If you require a wheelchair, please contact your GP.
The equipment can be prescribed for you by a community or hospital professional including:
- Occupational Therapists
- Physiotherapists
- Nurses
- specialist healthcare professionals
A professional will be able to assess your needs, discuss equipment to support you, and answer your questions.
All equipment is provided on loan, and CES will be responsible for any repairs and statutory service and maintenance. CES will contact you when this is required.
If you have a general enquiry or need to arrange a repair, please contact CES by:
- email: jointequipmentservice@solihull.gov.uk
- phone: 0121 329 0900
