What happens after the assessment?

An Occupational Therapist may provide advice or recommend equipment or home adaptations to support your independence at home.

If you are eligible, minor adaptions can be provided free of charge. A minor adaptation is defined as costing £1,000 or less. In Solihull, we may be able to provide up to £1,500 of minor works under our Housing Assistance Policy.

Major adaptations will require a financial assessment to determine what financial support you may be entitled to.

If you have difficulty understanding, remembering or using information, or have difficulty getting your point across, you may want to use an advocate to support you with your assessment.
