Karen's Christmas Column 2025

So here it is! Well, not quite, we still have a few more working days to go but I hope everyone is ready to Step Into Christmas.

It will be a short column this week, I’ve got a couple of bits of seasonal news but otherwise I’m just here to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Just as we did Last Christmas, we’ve relaxed parking restrictions on single yellow lines so whether you’re Driving Home For Christmas or just visiting loved ones you won’t get a penalty notice sent with your last minute gift deliveries this year.

Panto has returned to Solihull this year (Oh yes it has!) and we welcomed Midlands Today to The Core for some filming, we’re expecting it to be on TV tonight (18 December). There are still a few tickets left for some performances, Aladdin runs until January 4.

This can be a difficult time of year for some people, so if you’re worried about someone who might be Lonely This Christmas please take a moment to check in on them, our Here2Help pages list the support available.

All that remains for me to say is I hope you have a Wonderful Christmastime and that your holiday season is more Mistletoe and Wine than Fairytale of New York.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, I’ll see you in 2026.

Karen
