Design a bookmark competition – Coronation style!

Released:

Children and young people in Solihull are invited to design a bookmark which shows how they celebrated the Coronation of King Charles III.

It could show a Coronation event in Solihull, a street party with neighbours, drinks and cake with family and friends in front of the telly – or something else entirely. The main thing is to be creative and produce a lasting legacy of the Coronation.

The lucky winners will be invited to have afternoon tea with the Mayor of Solihull and will receive a gift voucher and a certificate.

To enter, please pick up an entry form from your local library.

You can also download the entry form and bookmark template from our website.

The competition closes on Monday 5 June.

The Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Ken Meeson, said:

“I would like to encourage children and young people from across the borough to take part in Solihull Libraries’ competition and have fun designing some wonderful bookmarks to mark the Coronation this year.

“Competitions such as these really highlight the creativity of children and young people that we have here in Solihull, and I’m excited to see the brilliant designs they come up with!”

There are four categories for the following age groups:

  • Under 5s
  • 5-8 years
  • 9-11 years
  • 12-16 years

The best bookmark designs for each category will also be made into Coronation bookmarks for Solihull Libraries.
