Town Centre Energy Network
Exciting plans are being progressed to deliver affordable low carbon energy to the town centre. The Solihull Town Centre Energy Network will distribute low carbon heat and power from a single energy centre directly into town centre buildings. Potential customers may include Council owned premises, education campuses and commercial offices.
Planning permission was secured for the Low Carbon Energy Centre in May 2021, marking a major milestone for the scheme. We are currently working with our partners to develop a full business case and hope to appoint a final contractor to build, maintain and operate the network very soon.
