Library services available during COVID-19
Our COVID-19 page can help you understand the changes to all Solihull Libraries and see what other services are available.
Joining the library is easy, membership is free and you can use your library card in any Solihull library and use our online services.
You can join the library online if you are 16 or over.
You can also visit any library in Solihull to join in person. You will need to provide 1 form of identification that shows your name and address.
If you are under 13 a parent or guardian must act as guarantor before you can borrow any items.
Library services
When you join Solihull libraries, you can:
- reserve and renew items online
- use all the resources of the 24/7 library and download eBooks and eAudiobooks and eMagazines and eNewspapers
- access computers and the internet, all our libraries have computers with free internet access
- borrow items from any Solihull library
Borrowing
Adults can borrow up to:
- 10 books (3 week loan)
- 6 CDs (1 week loan)
- 6 DVDs (1 week loan)
- 10 Audiobooks (3 week loan)
- 10 eBooks (3 week loan)
- 6 eAudiobooks (3 week loan)
Children and teenagers can borrow up to:
- 10 books (3 week loan)
- 6 CDs (1 week loan)
- 6 children's DVDs (1 week loan)
- 10 Audiobooks (3 week loan)
- 10 eBooks (3 week loan)
- 6 eAudiobooks (3 week loan)
Renewal
You can renew items by:
- using the online library catalogue
- calling 0121 704 8400
- visiting your local library
You may not be able to renew items if they have been reserved by another customer.
