Supported living

Supported living helps adults with care needs to live as independently as possible in the community.

Supported living differs from care at home (also known as domiciliary care).

Supported living can include help with personal care, but it will also encourage you to be more independent and do the things you enjoy.

Support can be provided in several ways including:

  • 1:1 support to help you to enjoy activities or complete tasks around the home independently
  • 24/7 support to maintain independent living, for example if you live in a home which is part of a bigger development of flats where there is 24-hour onsite support
  • shared support with other people who live in the same building and/or want support to participate in the same activity
