Solihull Connect Contact Centre
Our services may be disrupted and wait times could be longer than usual on Friday 9 January 2026.

Solihull Connect walk in centres
Our walk in centres will be opening later than usual today due to the weather conditions.
We will communicate any further changes to opening hours.
Libraries
Some libraries have been affected by the severe weather. Any changes to normal service are listed on our Library closures page.
Our waste and recycling service
Due to adverse weather conditions, we have suspended our waste and recycling collection service.
Our service update page tells you when we will return to collect and what other services are affected.
Refuse collections
If your refuse has been missed, please put your rubbish and any additional bagged rubbish out for your next scheduled collection on Friday 16 January 2026.
Recycling collections
If your recycling has not been collected, please leave your recycling bins out and we will return week commencing 12 January 2026.
If you have additional recycling it should be placed in a suitable container such as:
- your old black recycling box
- a hessian or jute bag
- a clear plastic bag or carrier bag
Please do not use black sacks or cardboard boxes as if wet, they can get soggy and the contents fall out. We cannot empty large bags, e.g. builders sacks.
Bickenhill Household Waste and Recycling Centre (HWRC)
Bickenhill HWRC is closed on Friday 9 January 2026 and Saturday 10 January 2026 due to the poor weather conditions.
We will reopen on Sunday 11 January 2026.
Please re-book your appointment for another date.
Family Hubs
Evergreen, Hatchford Brook, and Riverside Family Hubs will be closed on Friday 9 January 2026.
Elmwood will remain open between 9:00am and 4:00pm.

Our Cemeteries will be closing at 3:30pm on Friday 9 January 2026 due to the weather conditions.
