You can only register a death after receiving notification from a:
- medical examiner
- coroner
- registrar
You must do this within five working days of being notified.

Urgent registration
If someone who died Solihull needs to be urgently buried, you can contact us at weekends and bank holidays between 9:00am to midday.
Please 0121 704 8002 and hold the line until you're transferred to our out of hours team.
Copy certificates
When you make an appointment, you'll be asked to pay for death certificates. You can pay by debit or credit card.
If you need more certificates, you'll be able to order them at your appointment.
