- Strategies for all staff (including supply) to include adjustments to ensure teaching is accessible and inclusive for hearing impaired students.
- Named adults in school that can support with equipment management e.g. changing batteries.
- All staff working with hearing impaired pupils liaise with Teacher of the Deaf for advice/training/support with specialist equipment.
- Management Plan/Pupil Profile from SISS to be considered in all planning and preparations.
- Intervention Plans in place.
- Ensure access arrangements are in place for all assessments.
- Access to small intervention groups as appropriate for areas of difficulty.
- Pre-teaching of subject based concepts and new vocabulary.
- Language programme implemented with advice from Teacher of Deaf and SaLT.
- Social skills group to support communication and self esteem.

- Cue a pupil in to who is talking or when there is a change of topic.
- Ensure access to specialist amplification systems such as radio aids, that are monitored and maintained in collaboration with Solihull SISS.
- Correct use of amplification equipment.
