On Wednesday 3 June, talented pupils were applauded by the Mayor of Solihull for their fabulous artistic work, as part of the Solihull Rotary Young Artist 2026 competition.

Colourful hanging baskets are brightening up the borough thanks to talented adults from Newlands Bishop Farm.

Last week, the recently elected Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Sardul Singh Marwa MBE JP, and Mayoress, Mrs Satnam Kaur Marwa JP, visited the Land Rover Sports and Social Club to announce Age UK Solihull as one of the Mayoral charities for 2026-27.

Some good news this week – we have been given confirmation that the first plots of land around the HS2 interchange station will be available for development from 2030.

Applications are now open to join the Chelmsley Wood Neighbourhood Board, with space for up to ten volunteers who can help to transform the local community.

Solihull Council is pleased that the government’s intervention into its children’s social care services has ended and the statutory direction has been removed. The decision comes after years of large-scale improvements which culminated in the Council received a rating of ‘Good’ from Ofsted in January this year.

On Tuesday, it was confirmed that Solihull Council will be run by a Conservative minority administration and that I will be continuing as Leader of The Council.

New moving traffic enforcement cameras are being rolled out in Solihull to help improve road safety, cut congestion, and reduce dangerous driving.
