Volunteering is a great way to help your community and make a real
difference to people’s lives. It is also personally rewarding – helping
you to stay active, meet new people, grow in confidence and provide
a sense of achievement.
Under the Public Health (Control of Diseases) Act 1984, we have a statutory duty to make arrangements for the funeral of any person who has died or is found dead in the borough of Solihull, where it appears that no suitable funeral arrangements have been made, or are being made.
Each councillor receives a basic allowance. The allowance is the same for every councillor and its purpose is to recognise the time commitment of councillors and to cover related expenses.
