Youth offer

Our ‘youth offer’ defines what activities, opportunities and support is available for young people between 11–18 years old (up to 25 years old for those with special educational needs). It recognises that young people need access to safe spaces, trusted adults and things to do to support their physical and emotional wellbeing.  Areas of focus include sports and arts activities to uniform groups and youth clubs.

Local authorities have a statutory duty to provide a youth offer in their area, including defining what support is available, ensuring residents have access to it and implementing a mechanism for young people to have a voice.

Good youth work contributes to young people feeling a sense of belonging and connection to their community, providing informal learning which can be essential in developing lifelong skills.

Solihull Council is committed to providing the best start in life to young people, enabling them to live happy and healthy lives.
