Council services over Christmas
Some of our services will change during the festive season.
There are a variety of ways to support your child. It is important to have the advice of professionals on what support would be appropriate. We have provided examples of what type of help may be available on this page.
All children with SEND are different and will need different levels of support. There are different services for different SEND needs, and it can feel difficult to navigate when you are new to the SEND process.
If your child has not yet started nursery, or is with a childminder, you should talk to your health visitor for advice. (If you do not have one, ask your GP for one to be allocated, or call the Health Visiting Team.)
The Health Visiting Team will need to see your child to assess their level of need. Your health visitor can give you advice to support your child, and their development.
If the health visitor or childminder feel your child may need some additional support, they may signpost you to further services or ask the community nursery nurse to support you by visiting your home.
Depending on your child's specific needs, your health visitor or childminder may also make referrals to other Solihull teams or professionals.
