This week I’ll be talking about one of my main priorities – our local economy. Solihull is home to many vibrant and growing businesses.

Veolia Solihull, Solihull Council’s grounds maintenance partner, has been awarded Hedgehog Hero status by the Hedgehog Preservation Society in recognition of its efforts to keep local wildlife safe.

This week, Solihull Observatory are launching a new Solihull Area and Ward Profiles dashboard on the Council website. This will be a useful tool for Solihull residents and businesses to explore the data that makes-up the borough.

I am extremely honoured to be the new Leader of Solihull Council. As anyone who knows me will tell you, I love our borough and I’m really proud to call it home.

As part of Global Accessibility Awareness Day 2025 (Thursday 15 May), today we celebrate the importance of accessibility and inclusion, because everyone deserves equal access to the digital world.

Councillor Annette Mackenzie, who has been representing Shirley East Ward as a Local Councillor for 11 years, was elected as the 72nd Mayor of Solihull on Tuesday 13 May 2025.

Solihull Council is developing a new Council Plan to cover the years 2025-30. Residents, local businesses, parish and town councils, voluntary groups and partners are invited to have their say on the draft plan.

At Annual Council this Tuesday, I announced that I am standing down as Leader of the Conservative Group and as Leader of the Council.

I have just announced at Annual Council that, after six years in the role, I am stepping down as Leader of Solihull Council.
