The Early Years Team support children with a wide range of significant and complex developmental delays, from birth to the end of nursery in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The team includes:

  • Area SENCOs and early years advisors (who work with early years settings)
  • Inclusion Support Practitioners  (who may work with early years settings and families)

Support takes place in a variety of settings, which may include:

  • your home
  • pre-schools
  • nurseries
  • childminders
  • schools within Solihull.

The team work closely with a range of other professionals who may support children with developmental delay or complex needs; these include:

  • Specialist Inclusion Support Service (SISS)
  • physiotherapy
  • speech therapy
  • health visitors.

We offer joint visits with other colleagues/professionals where appropriate.

We are committed to the principles of early identification and support, and to assessment for children with additional needs and their families/carers. The team aims to ensure that the educational needs of the children are identified and appropriately met and that we work in partnership with parents.

If this is your first visit to our page, we suggest you read the information on the "Has my child got a development delay" webpage before looking at the other pages.
