Your personal budget is the amount of money Solihull Council will pay towards any social care and support you need.
A Care Act assessment helps us work out the amount of your personal budget.
How to get a personal budget
If you need help from adult social care, please ask for support.
Once we’ve assessed your needs, we’ll work out how much your care and support will cost. This money is called your personal budget.
Managing your money
You can choose to have your personal budget:
- managed by us
- paid to you as a direct payment
You will still need to pay any charges for your care. You’ll be told how much you need to pay in your financial assessment.
Personal budgets for carers
If you are an unpaid carer, you could receive a personal budget in your own right.
You can check if you are eligible by asking us for a carer’s assessment.
